Winter “blues”

A quick blog just to provide pure motivation to the soul. Things are looking up from here my fellow followers, the days get longer and before you know the migratory birds will be back serenading you with their unique sounds. I know in our household the winter blues can be daunting which just adds stress to a already small environment. Often we sit and play the, what do you want to do game which most the time only adds to the frustration  and usually ends with no results.

This is where social media and technology are beneficial. With a click of a button you have access to countless of options on events in your area. Facebook for example offers an event page where you can find all kinds of activities for adults and children. Local businesses and organizations use this to their advantage, and so should you.

I recently took my family to the coastal Maine botanical gardens Christmas light event. Thanks to social media and a local news bit I was aware of such an event.  Being a landscaper I’ve always known about the coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and have been there on a few occasions throughout the summer months,  but had no idea they had this winter event going on. So we decided to make the trip to see for ourselves what all the hype was about. It was a great evening out and the display was nothing more than spectacular. Of course it was a small hit to the wallet, but again a small price to pay to be able to have this lasting memory embroidered into our minds.

Most importantly it got us outside, it got us moving, it recharged us, it gave us fuel to move forward and that my fellow followers is the message.
